What America Thinks: Will Americans Remember Trump’s Cabinet?
With all the media attention on President-elect Trump’s recent cabinet selections, one would think they'll become household names. But history shows us that may not be true.
Save for a few high-profile members of President Obama’s cabinet, like Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Robert Gates, most of his cabinet members remained relative unknowns throughout his eight years as President. More than 25%, and sometimes as many as 80%, consistently said they had never heard of or did not have enough information to form an opinion about most of Obama’s cabinet members over the years.
While a few of Trump’s higher-profile picks have been getting plenty of attention, it remains to be seen if they will catapult into the spotlight, or remain relative unknowns as many cabinet members of presidents past.
